Offering exceptional OB support from planning, to birth, to post-natal care.
At Siouxland Women’s Health Care, we work as a team to guide you through this special time, providing continuous and complete care, from pregnancy confirmation to the birth of your baby, and beyond to the post-partum period. We offer a full range of obstetric services, including ultrasound (sonogram), genetic testing, and fetal monitoring for low-, moderate- and high-risk pregnancies. We work together with maternal fetal medicine consultants to provide expert treatment for high-risk obstetric cases.
Vaginal and Cesarean Birth
There are many reasons why a pregnancy may be considered high-risk.
Your doctor will discuss this with you in detail if any of these concerns apply to your pregnancy.
Pregnancy is a joyous time for you and your family. Let us enhance this time by providing you with the specialized and individualized obstetrical care you desire in a warm, caring, and personal environment.
Select Your Obstetrician
You select one doctor in our practice as your primary obstetrician, who will see you monthly. You have the option of meeting each of the other physicians in the group if you wish to do so. The obstetricians share on-call coverage, so someone from the practice is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for deliveries and emergencies.
Our primary goal is a healthy pregnancy for both mother and baby, while doing our best to enable you to have the experience you desire. To this end, we provide expert, individualized, and personalized care throughout this normal life process. If there is a need for medical intervention, we keep you informed, listen to your concerns, and answer your questions. Ultimately, it is your decision, and we support you in your choices for prenatal testing and treatment as well as for labor and delivery.
If you believe you are pregnant, contact us to schedule your first appointment. At that first appointment, you will start your appointment with an ultrasound and receive pictures of your baby to show your family. You will then have a comprehensive history and physical examination. You will be given the book, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” and other information on pregnancy. Your second visit is also packed with education about pregnancy and prenatal information like diet and exercise; we will also answer any questions you may have.
Your Prenatal Care Will Include:
from approximately 8 weeks to 28 weeks.
from 32 weeks to 36 weeks.
after 36 weeks until delivery.
4 to 6 weeks after delivery.
Access to Specialists
Our affiliation with area perinatologists (specialist in high-risk pregnancies), reproductive endocrinologists (specialist in fertility issues), and pediatricians (specialist in infant, children and adolescents) further enhances the level of services available to you.
Free 3D/4D Ultrasound DVD
As a courtesy to our obstetrical patients, you will receive a FREE 3D/4D ultrasound DVD. We will give you a DVD of the video and email or text you the images of your baby, to be shared with friends and family on social media. It is best to obtain this ultrasound when you are 25-28 weeks pregnant.
At approximately 25 weeks gestation a brief ultrasound can be done to determine your baby’s gender.
